teaching statement

As a dancer, student, and aspiring dance educator, I believe in creating a classroom that showcases my students and their identities. I do this by generating a space where my students are respected, valued, and seen. I believe in the ideas of listening, supporting, and providing thoughtful feedback to one another as my main priority.

I believe in the progression and expansion of knowledge through dance. My focus is on the learning process, it’s never about the win but rather the lessons that were learned throughout. I want my students to experience growth for themselves as dancers and individuals. My desire is to construct a classroom for my students to work collaboratively, think intellectually, and build on their creativity to become the version of themselves that they seek to be.
